MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy is a safe and effective complement to chiropractic care. Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well-being. In addition to the softening and lengthening of muscles, massage aids in healing and reduction of swelling. Massage causes an increase of local blood flow, it decreases muscular soreness and moderates pain. Massage also aids in the prevention of adhesion and scar tissue formation. Deep tissue massage has been shown to release endorphins and enkephalins. It has been shown to increase tissue pliability, improve lymphatic flow and stimulate the immune system.
